"The Sea Holds One in its Net of Wonder Forever"

Hello Everyone:  We hope that everyone is having a wonderful Summer.  Many of you will head to the beach and enjoy the ocean.  Here is a card to celebrate the ocean:

I love lighthouses. Creative Impressions has this wonderful Lighthouse Silhouette Rubber Stamp T319 that I used.  I stamped it with Dark Blue permanent ink on a scrap of white cardstock.  I noticed some slight "spots" when I stamped the lighthouse, but decided they added to the ocean theme, so they were left in place.  I then colored the windows with a yellow marker, cut it out and set it aside.

To create the porthole, I die cut a piece of white cardstock that was doubled for strength using two different sizes of circles.  I then wrapped small lengths of Thin Jute Twine in Natural (80604) 4 times around the porthole and adhered the ends of the twine with liquid glue.  I finished it with the addition of 4 Copper Mini-Round brads (95553).  Set aside.  Now using the inside of the porthole as a template, lightly mark with a pencil where to stamp the sentiment "The sea holds one in its net of wonder forever" by Jacques Cousteau on a white panel and stamp the sentiment in black. Set aside.

Adhere a patterned paper panel that has been die cut with the smaller circle used to create the porthole to a dark blue cardstock panel and then to a white folded card.  Now take your porthole and and center it around the previously die cut panel in the patterned paper.  Place foam tape around the porthole and adhere it to the patterned paper panel.

I then added foam tape to my lighthouse, being careful to avoid the porthole area so that it isn't too "lumpy. " To finish I used Creative Impressions Cork Paper (89000) for "sand".  I tore a narrow piece and adhered it along the bottom of the card, cutting a piece for the lighthouse separately so that it adhered down well.

That's it!  Now it's your turn to create this "Summer Sea" theme.

Christmas in July!

Hello Everyone!  It's Christmas in July!  You may ask WHY?  That's because it is time to start thinking about making those wonderful handmade cards for all your friends and family at Christmas!  Here's a simple one that is easy to mail:

To create this card I silver embossed Creative Impressions stamp "Silver Bells" YY230-A on a piece of red cardstock.  I added Felt Holly and Berries from our Christmas Felt Collection 63120 to the top and set the piece aside.

To finish his card, I adhered a piece of music patterned paper to a dark green mat.  I then wrapped a piece of our 5/8" Red Organdy and Satin Edge Ribbon 70468 around the piece.  All I had to do to finish was adhere the matted piece to a white card and then the previously decorated piece over the ribbon.

Easy peasy!  I really wanted a design that wasn't too bulky so that it could be easily mailed.  I think this one fits the bill!

Sweet Baby Girl

Hello Everyone:  Today I am featured a sweet and simple baby card card:

I sure hope you aren't tired of seeing circles as I just love them!  I made three cards using different colors of our Printed Ribbon with circles (This time 80134 Magenta with Black)  Love the fun ribbon!

I used Creative Impressions Polymer Stamp Set #TT202 Baby Caps for the Baby's Initial and Teddy Bears.  After stamping the desired Initial, I die cut the initial with a small circle die.  I also cut a slightly larger circle from black and another from a coordinating patterned paper.   "A New Baby" from Set #TT255 Baby Innies and Outies was stamped directly over the top of the circle initial onto the patterned paper after the circle was adhered to a piece of patterned paper.

I stamped a teddy bear on two other scrap white pieces and  punched then out with circle punches.  Then I did as above and punched a slightly larger black circle and finally a patterned paper circle.  These were adhered towards the bottom of the card.

Finally, I adhered the entire patterned piece to a black mat.  I wrapped the Circle Ribbon around the entire matted piece towards the left side of the card and finally to a white card.  Super easy and cute!

Time to create your own!

Let Freedom Ring!

Hello Everyone:  Happy 4th of July to everyone!  Today I am sharing a card I previously made to celebrate the holiday!

This card could not be easier but makes a statement due to the wonderful Creative Impressions stamp and embellishments!  I stamped "Let Freedom Ring" (E193) onto a piece of scrap white cardstock and adhered it to the center of a patterned paper piece.  This was then adhered to a red cardstock mat.  Red (70250) and Blue (70255) Glimmer Ribbon were then placed around the sentiment and adhered to the back of the panel.

White Primitive Star Brads (90680) were placed in each corner of the sentiment where the Glimmer Ribbon intersected.  Then all that was left to do was adhere the panel to a larger blue cardstock panel and finally to a white card.

Now it's your turn to make a statement for the 4th!  Let Freedom Ring and let us never take it for granted!

Happy Stamping!
