Mothers are the Best!

Hello Everyone:  Mother's Day will be here soon - a bit earlier than I realized!  Time to get a card made for that special Mom in  your life.

One of my favorite things to do is to rummage through my scrap patterned paper file and challenge myself to make a card with the scraps.  Another favorite thing is to coordinate Creative Impressions flowers and ribbon to the colors in the scraps.  Fortunately it is quite easy to do!

I knew I wanted to pick up the pinks and blues in the paper so I chose some lovely Creative Impressions Blossoms in similar colors.  I used  Sheer Blossoms and Leaves in Pastel and Tropical (60601 and 60700) along with a small and larger Iridescent and Transparent Blossom in Tropical and Pastel (6100 and 6120)  One of the great things about using these precut shaped Blossoms  is that they come in such wonderful materials such as the Sheer and Iridescent that would be very difficult (if at all) to die cut.  These are ready to go, just add a Pastel Round Brad (90673) and you are done!

Then I stamped the sentiment from Creative Impressions polymer stamp set #4215 Mother's Day Innies and Outies onto a piece of scrap white cardstock, inked around the edges with pink ink and then matted the piece to a scrap blue cardstock.  This was set aside while I finished the rest of the card.

I began by adhering the pieces of pattern paper to a black mat.  I punched a border from white cardstock using one of my punches.  This was adhered to the border of where the two patterned pieces met.  I then wrapped a piece of 1/2" Dot  Ribbon (70422 Aqua with Yellow) and some Mustard Thin Twine (80611) above the border.  Once finished, I adhered the whole piece onto a white card.

To finish the card, adhere the sentiment towards the bottom of the card and position the flower slightly over the top left edge of the matted sentiment piece.  Glue down the flower. (Note: the flower can also be attached to the back of the black mat before adhering to the card.  Just punch a small hole and thread the brad from the flower center through to the back.

What could be easier.? CI's polymer stamp set has a ton of wonderful sentiments to use on your Mother's Day card.  Enjoy!

A Lovely Spring Garden Card for You!

Hello Everyone:  Today I am sharing a cute Spring Garden card with you using Creative Impressions' polymer Stamp Set # Y602 Quick Coloring Frame:

I love all the happy colors in this card and can't wait until my garden produces some of these brightly colored blossoms!  I will be honest with you - when I first saw this stamp set, I was concerned that the coloring part would take quite awhile.  My original idea was to emboss this stamp with gold and then just highlight a few of the blossoms.  However, once I began coloring the piece, I found that the coloring really did go quickly so I finished the whole thing!

I began by stamping the quick coloring frame with Archival Green ink on a piece of white card stock.  I then stamped it again, coloring and cutting out just a few of the blossoms so that I could pop them up a bit using foam tape.

One of the really fun things about this set is that it has multiple sentiments which fit inside the frame.  i have used the "Thank You" in this example, however, there is also a darling birthday sentiment and Love sentiment you may use.

I cut the frame out once I was done, backed it with an orange panel and adhered it to a piece of green patterned paper Everything was then adhered to a white card.  To finish, I  cut a slit in the side of the white card with an x-acto knife and threaded some Purple and White Baker's Twine (80706) through the slit and around the card twice.  I finished by making a bow.  Easy, isn't it?  Now your turn!

Quick and Easy Easter Card

Hello and Happy Almost Easter to Everyone!  Easter is this Sunday, the 17th.  Today we are featuring a darling card by Chari Hogsett anyone can make last minute!  Isn't it cute!

Chari stamped Creative Impressions Rubber Stamp "Happy Easter" three times on a white card panel with embossed lower edge.  She also stamped it two more times on a piece of white scrap card stock.  She colored all the eggs with colored pencils and cut out the two eggs on the scraps.  Although it is hard to see in this photo, she went over the top of the colored eggs with "Wink of Stella" which added a fun glittery sheen.  To finish this panel, Chari added the two cut out eggs with foam tape over the top of panel.

Finishing was so easy with a green panel and then the whole piece adhered to a white card.  To finish, a price of Aqua/White Baker's Twine ( 80705) was wrapped around the left folded side of the card.

Now you can get those last cards finished!  Happy Easter everyone fro all of us at Creative Impressions!

A Garden Easter Bunny!

Hello Everyone!  Today I am featuring a card made with a sweet little bunny hiding in a Spring garden:

I used the bunny and "Happy Easter" greeting from Creative Impressions polymer stamp set number            .  I stamped the bunny onto a piece of white scrap card stock, colored him with pencils and cut him out.  Then I created my garden on a pink polka dot patterned paper panel (now I want you to say that ten times straight!) previously adhered to a black card stock panel using our Celery Leafy Vine (70220).  Once I adhered two pieces of the vine onto the pink panel, I added five flowers which I created using our Small Felt Blossoms and Leaves in Pastel (62001) and Heritage (62002).  Four of the five flowers have sweet little button centers in White (51000), Caramel (51006) and Pink (51013).  The fifth flower has a mini round in yellow from our Primary Mini Round Asst (90190).

Once I had created my little garden, I tucked the bunny in and adhered using foam tape.  "Happy Easter" was then stamped odd the panel.

The entire panel was adhered to a white card and was ready to send to a recipient.  Hope you like this sweet card
