Craft and Create with Creative Impressions

CRAFT & CREATE WITH CREATIVE IMPRESSIONS

Hello Everyone:  Today we are featuring a lovely message from Janet, owner of Creative Impressions, along with a few samples with Spring flowers.

Spring officially arrived on Saturday March 20th, 2021 even though we are still having some snowstorms here in Colorado!  My thoughts are already changing from Winter & snowflakes to Spring and flowers. As much as I enjoy living in a place that encompasses 4 distinct seasons,
there is something ‘extra special ‘about the arrival of warmer weather, trees getting their leaves back, tulips and other flowers coming ‘alive’, after their ‘winter nap’ and that ‘dead’ looking grass beginning to turn green, as I close my eyes and think to myself- -visualizing the words in the 1st lyrics of the song as Louis Armstrong sings…

“I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Ooh, yes!”
Songwriters: Robert Thiele / George Douglas / George David Weiss

If you have not tried creating your own flowers with our felt, sheer, transparent & shimmer blossoms that are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors- -now is the perfect time of the year to give that a try!!

Happy Spring!

Hugs & Prayers

My Sentiments Exactly "Hugs & Prayers" stamp is a sweet expression for sympathy, get-well, or just generally to someone special know you are thinking of them.  When I make a card like this, I try to make several so I have one on hand when the situation arises that I need it.

This simple card can easily be adapted with your own embossing folders, patterned paper and die cuts.

Find "Hugs & Prayers" at the Creative Impressions Etsy shop.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Creative Impressions!  It is also my son, David's, birthday, so I am looking forward to making him his favorite chocolate cake and having some fun later.  I will be sharing some birthday cards on this blog in the future, but, for the time being, I would like to share this latest St. Patty's Day card I made using our MSE stamps and CI embellishments.

All stamps are from the same MSE stamp set Y547 Irish Blessings.  Love that there are so many versatile stamps in one set!

I used one of my favorite ribbons - our 1/4" Grid Ribbon in Green Apple (70278)  in several different areas to add a little interest.

This was such a fun card to put together and so easy!  Hope you all have your "Green" on and have a fabulous day!

Gypsy Charm Bracelet Mixed Media Birthday Reminder

This crazy project needed a ridiculously long name to go with the ridiculous amount of Creative Impressions embellishments I used on it!

You can find all these Creative Impressions embellishments at:
CreativeImpressions.com
or
Creative Impressions Etsy Shop

I've seen these on Pinterest with just punched circles including names & birthdays.  I thought it would be fun to embellish everyone's birthday tag.  I went crazy with Creative Impressions Felt Flowers, Bling, brads, eyelets, and more, too many to name them all!  Some tags are super personalized because it was easy to take something about them and tell that story, even on a little tag.

January through June.
Zoom in to see detail.

 July through December.
I gotta get some more friends with July birthdays!  It messes with my sense of balance.

Here are some close ups to see the detail on the tags.  For some birthdays, I used my computer with various fonts and a couple of old typewriters for the names and birthdates.  For others, I used alphabet stamps, a label maker, and wrote out names by hand.

The tag on the right that says "Cheryl & Rick" is for our anniversary.  We share an anniversary with our good friends, Jim & Elaine, so we always send each other anniversary cards.  I embellished anniversary tags with a heart brad and included here so I always remember to send that card.

I used Creative Impressions embellishments exclusively on all these tags.  Metal labels, clips, mini pins, ribbons & rick rack.

Creative Impressions metal tags can be embossed with your embossing folders.  Manila tags and bits of card stock helped to build my tags.  All are linked together with jump rings.

My friend, Linda was born on Christmas day so it was fun to combine her birthday with Christmas symbols.

I intended to have this project completed to post the beginning of January.  Please message me privately for my long list of excuses for the delay.  😊

Hope you have fun checking this out and that your interest is sparked to create your own.

Happy Little Thoughts

Simple, happy, Creative Impressions!  Creative Impressions have added My Sentiments Exactly rubber and clear stamp sets to their product line.  You can find the Etsy Shop here.

Layering always adds more visual interest.  The simple trio of 1/8" Organdy Ribbon, aqua (70605), Flying Bird (MSEL125), and Happy Little Thoughts (MSEE170) top off the dry embossed panel.  To purchase any of these Creative Impressions products go to the Etsy Shop and search.

This time of year I'm starving for bright spring color!  I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  This card would also be pretty with the bird and words stamped in black ink.

Don't forget to spring forward Saturday night for even more spring sunshine!

Getting Ready for St. Patrick's Day!

Hello Everyone:  I don't have a drop (well, maybe a drop) of Irish blood in me, but that doesn't stop me from celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  It is also my son's birthday.  I sure panicked about green beer in his future when he was born on this day!  So...in honor of the day I have some cards to share with you from our MSE stamp line.

Both cards were super simple as we have the Shamrock Ribbon that makes a statement on the cards.

For this first card I used an embossing folder to first create a pattern on the white card panel.  Then I added a piece of green card stock to the bottom portion of the card.  I punched three circles from white card stock scraps and stamped the shamrock with green ink on the circle.  All three circles were then adhered to the bottom portion of the card.  The Shamrock ribbon covers the edge of the green card stock  nicely and a bow finishes the card center.

The last thing to do to finish the card was to stamp "Happy St. Patrick's Day" on another piece of white scrap, layer to a green panel and finally adhere to the top portion of the card with foam tape.

Now for the second card:

I actually created this card last year thinking I had to update it with an MSE stamp.  However, I found I had already used a MSE stamp!  I guess I really love them!

Our Shamrock Ribbon was adhered around a green panel and a black strip of scrap card stock and a bow added.  I stamped the Irish Blessing on another scrap and layered it to a black panel and then to the green panel.

I used two of our small White Blossoms, two small Green Felt Leaves and a Yellow Button to make two flowers.  I finally added a Yellow Jute twine bow behind the blossoms and adhered them to opposite corners of my "Blessings" panel.  Easy

More cards to come!  Stay tuned!
