Friends Are the Best!

 Hello everyone:

Today I am featuring two cards celebrating friendship.  What would we do without our friends?  I think we need to remind them how appreciated they are by sending a sweet card from time to time to let them know!

The first card was created using our Tulip stamp (T338) our leaf stamp from Set Y578 Love,  Butterfly from set Y575 True Friends and  Sentiment from set Y220 Friendship Innies and Outies .  I stamped                            the Tulip and the Butterfly onto a piece of scrap white card stock, using lavender and green inks, then cut them out.   These were set aside while I used an oval nesting die to cut an oval from a piece of patterned paper cut to fit the front of the card.  I then  cut another oval the same size as the cutout from cream card stock.  I stamped the leaf into the oval using green ink, leaving enough room for the Friendship sentiment in the center.  I edged the oval with lavender ink and then adhered the oval into the previously die cut oval on the card front.

I adhered a piece of Ribbon Expressions Forever Friends Gingham (80388) along the bottom of the card and added two lavender Tropical Mini Rounds (90914) on either side of the sentiment.  All that was left to do was to adhere the tulip and butterfly onto the front of the card using foam tape.

For the second card:

I used the same color scheme for this card along with the same Ribbon Expressions Forever Friends.  The sentiment is from the same Friendship  Stamp Set.  I also used the same patterned paper on the top.  I used an embossing folder on green card stock for the bottom half of the card to add interest.  Three banners of different sizes we added over the bottom green card stock. Before adhering them to the center, I added three White Daisies (90662), one on each banner,.  I then cut off the prongs of three lavender Mini Rounds and adhered one to the center of each daisy.  A piece of 2" Lilac Web Ribbon (70193) was cut in half lengthwise and glued over the place where the two papers met - then the ribbon was added over the top.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of scrap soft white card stock and used Stamp #D169 inked with lavender to stamp around the outside edges of the sentiment piece.  I layered the piece with a lavender card stock mat and adhered it to the top portion of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed these two new cards.  Don't forget to send your friends some cards now and then!

Brighten Someone's Day!

Another creation with this pretty and popular stamp set!  There will be one more to come in an upcoming blog post.

Layers, layers, layers!  Black and cream card stock panels, dry embossed front panel topped with a shadow gray textured oval and a red rose cut out and popped up.

The rose is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol.

The sentiment with a pretty mixed font works for so many occasions.  I stamped it in black and embossed with clear embossing powder to darken and emphasize the letters.  A few red bling rhinestones sprinkled over the bottom right balances the red rose on the left.

Cats have their Chance!

Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday!  If you saw my last post with two dog cards on it, you will remember that I asked you to stay tuned to my next post in which I would post a cat card for all you cat lovers.  Here it is!

For this card I used the same stamp set as the dog ( YCC225 Pet Lover Silhouette)  This one has a surprise to it - can you guess what it is?  Open the middle section where the knotted Cat Twill (80415) , Spiral Paper Clip (Tropical Spiral Clips 85004) and Pink Pastel Heart ( 90394) are and  you get this:

I just loved this style of card!  So easy and fun at the same time!  I added the sentiment "There's no such thing as an ordinary cat" from the same set ( YCC225).  Love the fact I can use the same set for both cats and dogs!  More bang for your buck!

Of course the card wouldn't be complete without our  Cat Felt Shapes (63151).  So easy to add - no die cutting and ready to adhere to your project.  Hope you enjoyed this card.

Butterfly Hello!

Here's a pretty one from guest artist Chari Hogsett.  Bright green ribbons, rhinestones & inks coupled with butterfly images and sentiments create a cheerful "hello" card.

Thanks Chari!
