One last "guy" card for Father's Day!

Happy Saturday to everyone!  We were lucky to receive several fabulous Father's Day cards and we have one more terrific one to share with you - made by our very own Jan Francis!  I absolutely LOVE this one - so very clever!

Jan used our MSE red rubber stamp  M411 and embossed it on an oval piece of patterned paper.  She used a die to cut the border for the card, then added some Creative Impressions embellishments to really  make this card special!  Jan die cut four stars from our Cork paper ( 8900 ) and then layered a Pewter Spiral Clip (85003) and an Antique Copper Fleur de Lis (93006) to the star, placing them in all four corners of the card.   This really created the "Wow" factor.

Hope you like this card as much as we do!  Thanks Jan!

Happy Father's Day on June 20th!

Another Father's Day card!

 Hello Everyone:

This week I thought I would share this wonderful Father's Day card made by Chari Hogsett.  Isn't it darling?

I think all of us struggle a bit with "guy" cards. don't you?  Well, Creative Impressions' MSE stamps come to the rescue!  I shared another Father's Day card I made with you on May 12th using the Classic Car Silhouette stamp set.   The beauty of these sets is that you can use them for other occasions as well such as birthdays.  You could even make "Thinking of You", etc. cards.  Here is the set:

Wouldn't it be fun to use a photocopy of your "guy" and place the hat, mustache, bow tie and spectacles on him?  It's hard to see, but she also placed a chocolate and taupe pearl (50514) in the center of each punched star.

Chari used the MSE stamp set number Y404 for this card.  We love the patterned papers she used.  It was a clever touch to put one of the patterned paper pieces on an angle for placement behind the "Hats" sentiment.
Thanks Chari!  Great job!

I Love You More Than Coffee

SUPER cute card today from rockstar designer Jan Francis!

We're sticking with the brown tones and the combination of cork paper, coffee twill ribbon, die cuts, buttons, & paper scraps give this fun card lots of texture and interest.

How about this for a men's birthday card?  I need several of those right now and this is just the thing!  Thanks, Jan, for a great idea.

Father's Day card

Hello everyone!  Now that Mother's Day has passed, I am gearing up for Father's Day next month and sharing this new card with you:

I used our MSE stamp set YCC227 Classic Car Silhouette along with paper scraps to create this card.  I love the Art Deco style! This also is truly one of the easiest cards I have ever put together.  If I can do it, you can too!

First, you will want to stamp the car on a piece of scrap cream card stock and cut it out.  Lay it on a tan crackle piece patterned paper that has been adhered to a black mat and stamp "You're a Classic" underneath the car.  Now place foam tape on the back side of the car and adhere to the patterned paper/black mat.

Lay the car panel piece onto a cream card and draw a slight pencil line on the card in order to place "Happy Father's Day" just above the car panel.  Stamp "Happy Father's Day in top right corner.

Now take a piece of coordinating paper matted with the same paper used for the car panel and adhere a Oatmeal piece of 1/2" Blank Twill (80509) to the left side.  Add a piece of single stitched 1/4" Single-Stitch Grograin (70912) over the top of the twill and wrap around to the back side of the panel.  Adhere panel to the left side of the card.

To finish, add three black buttons (51001) with a piece of Natural Thin Twine (80604) threaded through and tied to the ribbon.

Easy.  I think my father will enjoy this card.  How about yours?

Celebration Season!!

We've got a season at our house we call Celebration Season.  Within six weeks' time we have Mother's Day, Father's Day, our anniversary, both our birthdays and now a new daughter-in-law's birthday added to the season!

My husband's birthday was this week and he got a sweet new rechargeable coffee mug that keeps his coffee at perfect temperature.  What a life!!  Of course, I had to wrap it up pretty and used Creative Impressions embellishments for a nice, manly tag.

Pewter Screw Top brads (90000) are always cute for masculine projects.  The box is wrapped with Moss Web Ribbon (70198), topped and tied with 3/8" Blank Twill (80488).  I tied the tag to the ribbon knot with Dark Green Thin Twine (80601).

The tag is stamped with My Sentiments Exactly Birthday Blessings (H152)  wood mounted stamp and Top Secret Upper (Y513) clear alphabet set.

Having a stash of Creative Impressions embellishments means I'm always ready for all our celebrations!
