Tags, Tags and More Tags!

Hello Everyone!  We have a special treat for you today - a combined post from Susan, Cheryl and Jan!  Cheryl suggested we all create 6 tags each for Christmas.  Well, this turned out to be such a great idea!  It was fun to do and we ended up with a huge variety of Christmas tags, from easy to more detailed.  Here are photos of all our tags:

Here are the six tags that I (Susan) created.  The first three are all using Creative Impressions new stamp line ( Tree Stamp TT217, Snowflake from (Set Y586 Wishes) along with a Christmas tree felt shape (63120) and Dark Green Tree Brads (90652).  The ribbons used were Red/White Bakers Twine (80700), Navy/White Twine (80717) and Spring Green/White Twine (80704).  I also used Happy Holidays printed Ribbon (80335), Snowflake Ribbon (80117) and O' Christmas Tree Printed Ribbon (63120)

For the second grouping I again used the Christmas felt shapes on two of the tags and some of our stamps.  The ribbon used were Happy Holidays (80335) Merry Christmas (80334) and Green 1/2" Dot with Red  (70401).  The last embellishment was a large red Bright round  Brad (90703).  The Felt Candy Cane and Holly are from the Christmas Felt Shapes (63120)                                 .

Now for some really fancy tags worthy of putting on cards as well!  Jan is up next!

Aren't these beautiful tags?  For the first two tags, Jan used several of our stamps (Y559 Gingerbread Cookies) and (Y495 Merriest Christmas) along with Creative Impressions ribbons ( Red Jumbo Cotton Rick Rack, Brown/White Baker's Twine 70835, 1/4" Grid Ribbon Green Apple and Crepe Ribbon)                and embellishments (Antique Copper Fleur-di-lis Paper Fasteners 93006)

The second grouping are a tag within a tag using stamps ( Y206 To Have and To Hold and Y494 Happy Holiday) and ribbon ( Green Velvet Shimmer Ribbon 70972 and Crepe Ribbon Red 70130)  Jan came up with  a genius idea of using alcohol inks on our Pearls (Bits of Bling 50512) for the berries.  Now why didn't I think of that?!

The last two tags feature as well as our fabulous Snowflakes and brads ( Stamp M210 Season's Ornament)  It is hard to see that the ornament on the tag was stamped twice and the second one was folded in half to add dimension.  The ribbon used was Evergreen/White Baker's Twine 80718.  The Snowflakes are 63010 and 63000.  The Paper Fasteners are 90651.

Now for the last two by Cheryl.  I love the fact that these are specially designed for packages and show how our embellishments can be used in so many different ways!  Love them!

The above tag used the dark green Tree Brads ( 90640 ) along with Merry Christmas from Y556 Retro Sentiments Stamp Set .

This tag uses our White Spiral Stars from our Red, White and Blue Spiral Star Assortment (85030)

Love the Light Bulb Paper Fasteners (90656 )on this tag!

Love the sweet Heart Paper Fastener (90303) by her name!

Cheryl used some Silver Snowflake Combos (92007), panted them white and dipped them in glitter while still wet.

I may just be copying some of these tags for my Christmas packages this year!

Hope you enjoyed our collaboration of Christmas tags!

Merry Christmas to all of you from Creative Impressions!

Fabric Christmas Mini Book

Merry Christmas and celebrate with a cute little fabric mini book.  I love making little books and this one was super fun!

Pictorial instructions on sewing the book are found below.

Each page of the book can be a prompt for Christmas card ideas.

Creative Impressions felt Christmas shapes are DARN cute!

Create little pockets for a cheerful message, tucked away.

Combine non-traditional Christmas colors to brighten the pages and give a childlike, whimsical feel.

Collect different neutral fabric swatches to layer behind focal point.
The music note twill ribbon tab hints at the song "O' Christmas Tree".

Creative Impressions polymer stamps stamp beautifully on fabric!

Embellish your embellishments!  Use a stylus to make red paint dot ornaments on an Antique Copper tree brad.

Merry & Bright Christmas to You from Creative Impressions!

Creative Impressions Felt Shapes make creating a simple, fun card pack a punch!

I stamped a Christmas tag with a My Sentiments Exactly red rubber stamp.  I used a Perfect Ink pen to dab the word "Merry" and sprinkled red embossing powder.  A "merry & bright" banner is secured with one white mini brad.  The background is created with the same tag stamp, clear embossing ink, and clear embossing powder.

Wishing you a merry & bright Christmas,
The Creative Impressions Design Team

The Joy of Christmas

A darling Christmas card for you today from guest designer Jan Weideman.

The pretty background reminds one of a brilliant winter sunrise.  Swirl ribbon suggests the swirling, falling snowflakes.  A few of the snowflakes are popped out for dimension.

This is an elegant Christmas card yet easy enough to make a dozen on a cozy winter afternoon!
Thanks, Jan!

Happy Day!

I'm making faux flowers again and this time with Creative Impressions Thin Jute twine.  There are lots of color options.  I found a couple of YouTube videos to create these fun flowers, which I'll share below.

So many options for your flower centers on these cuties!

I always have a bit of cheesecloth handy to add a subtle layer behind resin buttons.
The button is tied with some white embroidery thread.

White resin button and a touch of bling!

You can use this technique with Bakers Twine, too.  The flower centers are very pretty and the stitching is easy to make even and neat.

The leaf is just a snip of jumbo ric rak, folded over & stapled.

Wishing you a creative and happy day!

Gray & White Baker's twine
Olive Jumbo Cotton Rick Rack - 70852

Links for twine flowers tutorials:
(I found this one created a prettier flower but took a little more practice to master.
The second one is easier and if you add a flower center, looks pretty much the same.)

Autumn Mosaic

How fun is this??

Grab some paper or fabric squares and create a mosaic with Creative Impressions embellishments.  Creative Impressions Heritage Colors are so great for this time of year and make it super easy to mix and match all kinds of elements for an interesting effect.

I used navy blue Felt Blossoms with an embossed jumbo fastener.  I cut out some leaves from 3/4" Blank Twill ribbon. (Product list and item numbers can be found below.)

Words cut from twill message ribbon, a mini safety pin,
and a tiny bit of grosgrain ribbon for added color.

Gold oak leaves and three navy mini brads.  It takes so little for each square of the mosaic!  But quilted all together, they make the statement.

The metal leaves are available in different colors and finishes.  Antique copper here.

More felt blossoms and a mix of maple & oak leaves.

I completely love these dragonflies.  I use them constantly!

Fun to cut up message ribbons and use the words in whatever shape you need.

Sweet heart with mix of ribbons, colors & textures.

Savor the season, my friends.
Happy autumn and happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween from Creative Impressions!

Hello Everyone!  I have one more fun and easy Halloween card to share with you before we start turning our attention to Thanksgiving and Christmas:

This was a fun style of card for me as I had never made one before.  There are tons of tutorials online.  Basically it is just a standard A2 card front with a patterned paper piece cut to the size of the front.  Two pieces of another patterned paper measuring 3 "x 4" were cut and the 4" long side was scored at 1".  That 1" section was folded in back of the patterned paper on the card front and then the opposite two corners were folded to the middle to form a point.

I love the stamp I used (T344)!  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of orange card stock and cut around the image.  I layered it to a black mat and adhered this piece to the top and bottom of  my patterned paper "triangles".  To hold the image in place on the front, I cut out a small circle from patterned paper and matted it to a slightly larger black card stock circle.  To the bottom half of the circle I added a piece of foam tape, leaving the top free so that I could tuck in the sentiment.

When the sentiment piece is pulled up, it reveals another fun Halloween sentiment No M418 Eat, drink and be Scary.

Halloween inside.jpg

Lastly, I stamped some small spiders on either side of my center sentiment and the card was done!

Hope you like this card and will make some for yourselves!  Happy Halloween!
