Friends Are the Best!

 Hello everyone:

Today I am featuring two cards celebrating friendship.  What would we do without our friends?  I think we need to remind them how appreciated they are by sending a sweet card from time to time to let them know!

The first card was created using our Tulip stamp (T338) our leaf stamp from Set Y578 Love,  Butterfly from set Y575 True Friends and  Sentiment from set Y220 Friendship Innies and Outies .  I stamped                            the Tulip and the Butterfly onto a piece of scrap white card stock, using lavender and green inks, then cut them out.   These were set aside while I used an oval nesting die to cut an oval from a piece of patterned paper cut to fit the front of the card.  I then  cut another oval the same size as the cutout from cream card stock.  I stamped the leaf into the oval using green ink, leaving enough room for the Friendship sentiment in the center.  I edged the oval with lavender ink and then adhered the oval into the previously die cut oval on the card front.

I adhered a piece of Ribbon Expressions Forever Friends Gingham (80388) along the bottom of the card and added two lavender Tropical Mini Rounds (90914) on either side of the sentiment.  All that was left to do was to adhere the tulip and butterfly onto the front of the card using foam tape.

For the second card:

I used the same color scheme for this card along with the same Ribbon Expressions Forever Friends.  The sentiment is from the same Friendship  Stamp Set.  I also used the same patterned paper on the top.  I used an embossing folder on green card stock for the bottom half of the card to add interest.  Three banners of different sizes we added over the bottom green card stock. Before adhering them to the center, I added three White Daisies (90662), one on each banner,.  I then cut off the prongs of three lavender Mini Rounds and adhered one to the center of each daisy.  A piece of 2" Lilac Web Ribbon (70193) was cut in half lengthwise and glued over the place where the two papers met - then the ribbon was added over the top.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of scrap soft white card stock and used Stamp #D169 inked with lavender to stamp around the outside edges of the sentiment piece.  I layered the piece with a lavender card stock mat and adhered it to the top portion of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed these two new cards.  Don't forget to send your friends some cards now and then!

Susan
