Baby Boy Blue Card

Hello Everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  Today we would like to feature a beautiful baby boy card. The card fold is called a building block card.  You can find a tutorial for this card on many different sites.

Following the directions for the basic Block Card tutorial, Susan used a piece of blue cardstock for the card base.  A white piece of cardstock was then cut to fit each panel.

Susan used a variety of stamps on this card.  The Booties, Blankets and Lots of Little Toys..." sentiment is from from Polymer Stamp Set No YCC219 Welcome Baby Silhouette.  She stamped the sentiment onto a piece of scrap white cardstock along with three sailboats from Set No. M105 Baby Boy stamped with blue ink.  This piece was edged with blue ink and mounted onto a yellow cardstock mat.  After stamping "Congratulations" from Welcome Baby Silhouette Set onto the white cardstock of the first panel, she then adhered the first set aside sentiment piece.

For the second panel, Susan stamped the sentiment "Welcome to Your New Little Boy" onto a white cardstock panel, inked the edges and matted the panel onto a yellow mat.  Set aside.  Before adhering this panel, she wrapped the white panel on top of the card base with Creative Impressions Ribbon 3/8" Double Stitched Ribbon (70951 Soft Blue with Cream) and adhered this panel to the base.  Then the Sentiment panel was adhered in the center over the ribbon,.

Almost finished! Susan used Creative Impressions Set Number Y515 Floral Upper Alphabet to stamp the letters separately onto 8 small pieces of scrap white cardstock.  The letters should spell
"B A B Y  L O V E"  The letters are so pretty with the beautiful floral design on them!  Each letter was edged with blue ink and matted with a slightly larger piece of yellow cardstock before being adhered to the blue block base.

For the final panel, Susan stamped the baby onesie from Creative Impressions set No.  YCC219            onto another white cardstock panel over a second piece of blue and cream double stitched ribbon.  She used three of the smallest buttons No. 51011 Vanilla Cream and adhered them to the front of the Onsie.  Again, this panel was edged with blue ink and adhered to a yellow mat.  It's done.  Only four colors were used -Blue, White, Black and Blue.

Hope you like this sweet Little Boy Blue card!  I had better get to work as there are lots of babies on the way in my family!

Susan
