By the Sea, by The Beautiful Sea!

Hello Everyone!  I hope you checked out last week's card as this week's is very similar, but a different way too use the same scrap design paper:

When I looked at my torn pieces of design paper, I couldn't help but think the white edges reminded me of waves!  I grabbed a piece of our Cork Paper 89000 and glued several pieces of torn paper down to the upper part of the panel.  I then stamped Creative Impressions stamp "By the Sea"                        over the paper and the cork paper.  It turned out to be a perfect impression!  This was then all adhered to a dark aqua panel.

To finish, I decided to use the same ribbon idea as I did last week except that I adhered it to the bottom of the card.  Once again I attached Two White Glimmer Rounds 90907 to the bottom corners of the panel and wrapped our 1/2" Swirl Organdy Ribbon 70305 Aqua with Aqua around the brads.  (If you don't push the brads down tightly you will have room to wrap them).  I added a smaller piece of ribbon tied in a knot to the center of the ribbon and then finished it off by adding one more Glimmer brad to the center.  I love how the Swirl Ribbon mimics the ocean waves!

Hope you will try this technique for yourself!

My husband's cousin is visiting from Spain (we are so excited), so we will be tied up for the next several weeks.  More cards to come then.  Thanks for visiting our blog!

Enjoy!

To a Special Daughter

Hello Everyone:  I was going through some of our archived cards and I saw a similar card to this one.  I put my own twist on it:

This is a study on using up patterned paper scraps.  I went right to my scrap drawer and  tore some coordinating paper in ragged strips.  Then I punched a lacey border and adhered it to both torn pieces.  Each piece was then adhered to a dark aqua piece of cardstock, leaving the center open for the sentiment.  I used Creative Impressions "To a Special" G549.  This is a wonderful stamp as it will coordinate with other people such as "Son", Mother, etc.  I then stamped "Daughter" H181, on a piece of scrap white cardstock, cut it out, blended ink around the edges and finally adhered to the bottom portion of the card.

I decided to add a bit of our 1/2" Swirl Organdy Ribbon 70305 Aqua with Aqua to the top by attaching it in a bit of different way.  I used two White Glimmer Rounds 90907 and attached them to each upper side of the top piece.  I then wrapped the ribbon around the brads to secure the edges.  In the center of the ribbon I tied a knot with a smaller piece of ribbon and then added one more Glimmer Round to the center of the knot,

All done and I used up some of my paper - well, not all of it!  I came up with another idea which I will share with you next week.  Stay tuned!

Enjoy!
