Butterflies and Web Ribbon!

Hello everyone:

I created a tag this past week using Creative Impressions Web Ribbon in a similar way to the card I featured earlier.

I demoed this at Artsy Stamps and Papercrafts last Saturday.  I used a lovely image from The Stamp Doctor.  It was very easy to make.  Sorry I forgot to take photos of the steps along the way.  Here's what I did:

I began by choosing some Ranger Distress Paints in similar colors to what is on my main image.  I added the paint to a craft sheet, spritzed it with water and then dabbed and dragged the tag through the paint.  I finally dried it with a heat tool.

I didn't need to adhere the Web Ribbon to the tag directly as I knew that it would be secured once the main image was adhered as well as at the top with the ribbon.

The bow at the top of the tag was created with our Crepe Ribbon.  To finish it off, I adhered a lovely paper rose to the bow center and curled the wire with the end of a pencil.

Finally, I added the words "be" and "happy" that were cut from a piece of 7 Gypsies paper and adhered to the main image.

Hope you like the tag.  Time to play and create your own!

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  Today I am featuring a simple card made with Creative Impressions embellishments along with Fab Scraps and Stamp Doctor beautiful papers!

The butterfly images are from a sheet by Stamp Doctor.  I layered this main image onto a panel with patterned paper and Creative Impressions Pink Web.  I think the background paper created a softness to the card and the Web added texture.

The panel was adhered to a folded card.  Then I added 3 Creative Impressions Metallic Butterflies to the main panel for some interest.

The panel was adhered to the base card:

Finally, I added a bow at the bottom created with Creative Impressions Crepe Ribbon.  Here is the finished card once again:

Hope you like this sweet card with lots of butterfly wishes!
Happy creating!

Happy Birthday - Touches of Color

Another simple card today.  My schedule is really busy lately and I'm LOVING simple.  You?

This was a fun color play.  Very little color in the card, but a nice exercise in tying in touches of color for balance.

The Creative Impressions brads and flower brad gave me three touches of yellow.  The layered panel, Creative Impressions flower center and message ribbon gave three touches of purple.  The bird cage, birds and words "happy birthday" gave three touches of black.  I used a twill ribbon layer behind the purple ribbon and balanced that with a kraft card stock card base.  I also did a double matted the card with a white layer which really made the 3D embossed background layer pop.

These will be birthday cards for my little girl cousins.   Creative Impressions always saves the day for me when doing kids birthday cards because I don't have many "kid" stamps or elements.

Thanks for checking out my blog and find some touches of color in your day today!
