Guest Artist Patsy Kral

Today I am sharing a coffee card created by Patsy Kral, former owner of Artsy Stamps and Papercrafts.  Patsy has always been a big fan of Creative Impressions and decided to create a card using one of her favorite sets:

The coffee set is YCC232 Delightful Drinks-Coffee.  Patsy stamped the coffee mug with brown ink on a piece of cream scrap.  She then stamped one of the sentiments on the inside of the mug. The coffee was was then cut out and set aside.

A piece of our fabulous Brown Grid Ribbon (70283)  was adhered towards the left hand side and around a piece of patterned paper created with scraps and "strip pieced". (Great technique!)  A Copper Mini Round Brad (93001) was placed in the patterned paper.  Then the whole piece was adhered to a brown card.  A scrap of brown dot paper was cut out and the corners were rounded.  Two more brads were attached to this piece for interest.  Our Thin Jute Twine in Brown (80603) was wrapped around the brown dot piece several times and the entire piece was adhered to the patterned paper over the mesh ribbon.

The previously set aside coffee mug was  adhered with foam dots over the dot patterned piece and the lovely composition was finished.  Easy!

Thank you Patsy for sharing your art with us!  "Drink coffee and Do Good".

My Cup of Tea!

Hello Everyone:  Today we are featuring a darling tea card by our very own Jo!

This card was made using Creative Impressions Stamp Set YCC234 from our Delightful Drinks Collection.

Jo stamped the tea cup with black ink on a scrap of white cardstock, added some pretty aqua ink for color, cut it out and set it aside.

You're My Cup of Tea was stamped separately on a scrap piece of white cardstock with aqua ink.  A slightly larger aqua piece of cardstock was added as a mat behind the panel and then 3 White and Yellow Daisies ((90662) and a small aqua flower made by using a Small Sheer Blossom in Tropical (60500), a Leaf in Bright (60503) and a Small Yellow Mini Round in bright (90198). Set this panel aside.

Adhere a patterned paper piece to an aqua cardstock mat.  About 2/3rds of the way down, adhere a half round piece of cork paper with a small piece of White Web Ribbon (70187)  adhered over the top.  Then she added a piece of 1/2" Dot Ribbon in Aqua with Yellow (70422) and wrapped it around the panel.  The panel was adhered to a white card.  To finish, the previously cut out tea cup was adhered with foam dots over the ribbon and cork.

This Creative Impressions set is very versatile - great for tea drinkers and non-tea drinkers alike!

Now it's your turn!

Happy Creating

You're A Classic!

Hello Everyone:  This week we are featuring an old favorite card for Father's Day.  It was so popular we are sharing it again!

I used Creative Impressions set YCC227.  I love the font and the versatility of this set as it works for not only Father's Day, but Birthdays as well!

Patterned paper scraps were used to create this Father's Day card.  I began by stamping the card, using a stamp positioned. I inked the stamp several times using the positioned to achieve deep black color on the card.  I then cut the car out, adhered it to a scrap piece of patterned paper which was then adhered to a black cardstock scrap.  This piece was then set aside.

I now prepared a panel to be added to the left side of the white card.  I adhered a black and white polka dot scrap to another piece of patterned paper.   I then cut a piece of  Oatmeal Blank Twill (80509) and glued it to the left side of this panel.  I wrapped a piece of 1/4" single Stitch White with Black Gros Grain Ribbon (70912) .  To finish this panel, I adhered three black buttons (51001)  that had a piece of Natural Thin Jute Twine ( 80604) tied through the holes previously to the top of the ribbon piece.  This panel was then adhered to the left side of the card.

Finally, the car panel was adhered towards the bottom of the card under the sentiment.  Done!  Great way to use up scraps and a lovely card!  Hope you will make one too!

More Fun with Circles

Hello everyone:  Do you remember my fun circle card from four weeks ago?  Well, I had so much fun creating it, I continued the theme and created a couple more cards.  Here is one of them, a baby card created with bright colors:

For this card I used Creative Impressions Stamp Set Number Y592 Oh, Baby.

I stamped the various images and punched/die cut them with various sized circles and slightly backed them with dark blue cardstock.  They were then set aside.

I also stamped the onesies on small white scraps of cardstock three times, coloring in only one of them. I mounted each one to a slightly larger orange panel.   These were then set aside.

Finishing the card was super easy!  I added an orange panel to a dark blue panel and a slightly smaller piece of dark blue over the bottom half of the orange panel.  The onesies were then adhered towards the bottom of the panel with two Orange Safety Pins (Tropical Assortment 84562 ) in the middle of the small panels.

A piece of our 3/8" Printed Ribbon (Orange with Aqua 80136) was wrapped around the panel, covering the place where the cardstock panels met and a bow was tied towards the left side.  "A loving welcome to the newest member of the family" was then adhered over the ribbon towards the left hand side.  The other two circles were then attached to the top part of the panel and the entire panel as adhered to a white  card.  Easy and fun card for any new parents!

Have fun creating!
